Overview
Parang La trek is an ancient trade route between the Spiti in Himachal, Tibet & Changthang in the Ladakh region. Parang La trek can be started from either Karzok village in Leh or Chicham / Kibber village in Spiti. The trail takes you to a maximum altitude of around 5600 meters to Parang La & follows the Pare Chu River which goes to Tibet & re-enters India. The main attraction of the trail is the old yet dynamic mountain features which resemble a unique pattern of being under the sea for a long time & house some of the unique fossils. The trail has vast meadows which were a grazing ground for horses from Spiti Valley.
Highlights of trek:
1. Witness the amazing sight of the deep gorges of Spiti to the broad flatlands of Ladakh
2. Enjoy camping at a high summit and the clear night sky under the billions of stars.
3. Trek through some of the most alpine forests of fir, Rhododendron, and Oak.
Getting There: How to Reach Kaza
Depending upon the trek members we will arrange a pickup and drop from Manali to Kaza. You have to pay extra transportation charges for this.
Included/Excluded
- Stay is included in Kaza hotel/lodge on sharing basis (You will be staying in tents during trek on sharing basis)
- Transportation from Kaza to Ki and Korzok to Leh
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner, soup, tea, hot drinks during trek
- Trekking permits for trekkers
- Guide, porters and staffs permit
- Garbage cleaning charges
- Campsite permit
- First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders etc. will be available at all campsites to deal with emergencies
- Ice axe, ropes, gaiters will be provided as per requirement
- Tents, sleeping bag, mattress, toilet tent, kitchen tent/dining tent
- Cutlery set
- Certified trek leader from Terranova Adventure
- Qualified guide.
- Cook, helper, porters.
- For any emergency, rescue expenses are not included.
- Meals during road journeys.
- Any kind of personal expenses.
- Any early return travel costs or accommodation except for the days as per the itinerary.
