Arrival in Delhi: Reach Delhi by air. Many international and domestic flights connect to Delhi.
Delhi to Rishikesh: From Delhi, you can either take a public or private car (approximately 6-7 hour drive) or a train to Rishikesh.
Rishikesh to Gangotri: Jeeps are readily available for the scenic drive from Rishikesh to Gangotri (around 4 hours). This is the starting point for the trek to Mt. Shivling Base Camp.
The ideal window for the Mt. Shivling Expedition is between June and September. During this period, you’ll encounter mostly clear skies and stable weather conditions with manageable snow levels on the mountain.
Mt. Shivling Expedition is rated as extremely difficult. This challenging climb demands excellent physical fitness, prior experience with technical climbs, and significant mountaineering skills, including ice axe and rope handling.
