Getting There:

The expedition typically begins in Uttarkashi, a town nestled in the Himalayas.

1. Reach Uttarkashi: Uttarkashi is well-connected by road from major cities in North India. Take a public or private car, bus, or train to reach Uttarkashi.

2. Uttarkashi to Gangotri: Jeeps are readily available for the scenic drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri (around 4 hours). This is the starting point for the trek to Mt. Gangotri III Base Camp.

Best Time to Visit:

The ideal window for the Mt. Gangotri III Expedition is between May and June and September and October. During these periods, you’ll encounter mostly clear skies with manageable snow levels, although colder temperatures can be expected in the shoulder seasons.

This challenging climb demands excellent physical fitness, prior experience with trekking at high altitudes, and good stamina for long days on the trail.
