Kang Yatse II, the western summit of Kang Yatse, offers an exciting challenge for those looking to transition from trekking peaks to semi-technical mountaineering. Situated at the head of the Markha Valley in Ladakh, this peak grants climbers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, including K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrum Massif to the north, and Nun Kun and the Zanskar peaks to the west. Rated Alpine PD (Alpine Difficulty – Partially Difficult), Kang Yatse II sits just above the 20,000-foot mark, making it a challenging but achievable climb for experienced mountaineers and fit trekkers.

Getting There:
The nearest airport to Kang Yatse II is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport in Leh. From Leh, trekkers will need to hire transportation to reach Shuchukin village, the starting point of the trek.
Best Time to Visit:
May to September offers the best window for attempting Kang Yatse II. During these summer months, temperatures are mild, and there’s less snowfall on the climbing route.
Difficulty Level:
Kang Yatse II is a challenging expedition due to its high altitude and semi-technical climbing sections. Previous mountaineering experience is mandatory, with good physical fitness and strong mental resilience being essential.

- You will be staying in tents during expedition on sharing basis.
- Transportation Leh to Sara and Chokdo to Leh.

- Trekking permits to National Park.
- Garbage cleaning charges.
- High risk insurance for the members
- First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders etc. will be available at all campsites to deal with emergencies.
- Ice axe, snow boots, harness, carabiners, descenders, gaiters, tape sling (all necessary safety & climbing gears)
