The Panpatia Col Trek is one of the most challenging and demanding treks in the Garhwal Himalayas. This high altitude pass, perched at a staggering 5,260 meters (17,260 ft), connects the holy Hindu pilgrimage sites of Kedarnath and Badrinath. Trekkers traverse mighty glaciers, navigate crevasses, and experience breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

The nearest major railhead is located in Haridwar. From there, taxis and jeeps can be hired to reach rishikesh and reporting at Joshimath in the evening, the most common starting point for the trek.

The Panpatia Col Trek is an extremely difficult trek. It requires excellent physical fitness, prior experience with high-altitude trekking, and proficiency in using mountaineering equipment like ice axes, crampons, and ropes. Due to the challenging terrain and potential dangers, this trek is not recommended for beginners.
